Digby Field

Aspiring artist. Moved to France 2010 with some experience in wood carving. Developed and an interest in improving my ability to draw. Working on improving technique and working to develop an expressive style. Enjoys figurative and portraiture work. Likes the simplicity of charcoal drawing but would also like to do more with acrylic painting and wood sculpture.

For me art is a great personal expression and I particularly enjoy working with others on either joint projects or learning in a group. Before Covid I attended a weekly group, Académie d’Arts Plastiques d’Epinal https://fr-fr.facebook.com/acadarpla.epinal

Chief Joseph

(Hin-mah-too-yah-lat-kekt, or Thunder Rolling Down the Mountain)

One of the most noble Indian chiefs in the West was Chief Joseph of the Nez Percé tribe. This official name comes from the French “nez percé,” which means pierced nose, a reference to these peoples’ custom of wearing a piercing in the nose.
